GHS BAND PARENTS MEETING MINUTES - MARCH 9, 2010
AGENDA ITEM DISCUSSION RECOMMENDATIONS/ACTIONS RESPONSIBLE
       
I.  Call to Order   The meeting was called to order by  Carole Buebe
    President Carole Buebe at 7:02PM.  
       
II.  Presentation of the Minutes   The minutes of the January 12, 2010 Amy Smith, Secretary
    meeting were approved as distributed. Pro-Tem
         
III.  Treasurer's Report Band Parents reviewed reports ending  The report will be filed for audit. Julie Nelson  
  2/28/2010.  We estimate $4-5000 will need to       
  be in reserve for the 2010-2011 school year.      
IV.  Director's Report Mr. Bredemeier offered Thanks to parents for    Mr. Bredemeier  
  assistance with recent Band events.  He      
  reminded all parents that the Theme concert      
  will be held March 21st in the auditorium.  The      
  concert is considered the FINAL Exam for       
  Term 3.      
         
  Symphonic Band members need to be at the       
  high school for the Theme concert by 1:10PM.   Ms. Shadensack  
  The Jazz Band will reherse on March 23rd with      
  the Guest Artist; rehersal is required.  March      
  25th is the Jazz Showcase, featuring the       
  Varsity, Jr.Varsity , and Jazz Combo.  Help is      
  needed to move equipment to Lake Storey &      
  return to GHS after the performance.  Band      
  parents are encouraged to bring baked goods      
  for the concessions.  Posters are available to       
  take to work sites for advertisement.  The       
  Big Band Dip will be May 14th in the Courtyard.      
  Considering to offer dance lessons prior to the      
  Jazz bands play; considering a light dinner      
  instead of the ice cream social.  Currently       
  exploring costs involved.  Thanks to all who       
  helped with Seminary Manor performance.      
V.  President's Report Carole reviewed the list of potential officers   Carole Buebe  
  and committee chairs for the 2010-2011      
  academic year.  Vote will be next month.

Cheesecakes will win a Band   25th; delivery will be April 14/15. Melody Bates

    $10.00.

VIII.  New Business Band Banquet set for May 21st.    Will try to move to Saturday, May 22nd    
  Plan to have a picture of students at U of I in order to increase parent participation.    
  and Seniors screen-printed on the cakes.      
  Norris Sound and Lighting will provide sound.
