GHS Band Parents Meeting Minutes 9/9/2008
AGENDA ITEM DISCUSSION RECOMMENDATIONS/ACTIONS RESPONSIBLE
I.  Call to Order/Introductions The Band Parents Association meeting was  Attendance was recorded via sign-in Rhonda Brady

    carried.  
       
    Corrected minutes will be sent to Cory Doris Kowalski
    for posting on the Web site.  
       
III. Treasurer's Report The Treasurer's report was reviewed by Julie The report will be filed for audit. Julie Nelson
  Nelson.    
  Balance in Checking 9/09/08 is $9,303.54;    
  Balance in Money Market 8/29/08 is    
  $33,253.03 for a Total of $42,556.57.    
       
IV. Director's Report Mr. Bredemeier announced that itneraries    Mr. Bredemeier

  Web Master Web site is up to date.  Competition Cory Silber
    listings include maps, bus routes, and  
    parent information.  Please send photos  
    and videos to Cory for posting on the   
    Web site.  Please make sure your   
    email address has been communicated  
    and is correct for inclusion in emails.  
       
  Historian The Register Mail is requesting photos Debbie McKillip
    of the Marching Band.  Send photos   
    via CD to Cory or Debbie.  
       
  Publicity Competition results will be posted. Lori Haslem
    Contact Lori when starting a fundraiser  
    or announcing an upcoming event.  
       
  Trip Coordinator No report on trip plans.  Band parents Cory & Deb Silber
    were reminded that our fundraising Rhonda Brady
    goal is $12,000.00 each year.to pre-  
    pare for the every-four year trip.  
    Trip points will be posted on the Website.  
      MARCHING SEASON Uniforms Thanks for all the help in fitting and  Ann Shumaker and
    adjusting uniforms for this year. Carolyn Pierson
    Please remind your student to wear  
    the correct clothes under the uni-  
    form.  
       
  Equipment Thanks for all the assistance at the  Nancy Reed and 
    last football game.  There will be an  Larry Brady
    additional 6-8 instruments added to   
    the Field Show.  Assistance is needed  
    at the Competions.  Please wear a  
    Black shirt or Marching Streaks shirt  
    when assisting at Football games or  
    competitions.  
       
  Flags All sewing is complete.  We will be  Ann Seibert
    re-using an old flag this year.  Thanks  
    to all those who helped with flags.  
       
  Chaperones 16 Chaperones are needed per  Julie Mackert and 
    competition.  Please see Julie or Todd   Todd Shumaker
    to sign-up.  
       
  Senior Night The list of Seniors will be provided to  Mr. Bredemeier
    Ann Seibert. Ann Seibert
       
  U of I Tailgate Hy-Vee on Henderson can provide a Linda Mower and 
    brown-bag lunch similar menu to last      Brenda Marshall
    year for $3.99 without a drink.    
    Sign-up sheets for students/families

    Happy Joe's has a new manager, thus  
    arrangements yet to be confirmed.

       AWARDS Banquet Reserve Friday, May 8th at Knights Kathi Myers
    of Columbus.  Alternate night to be Alanna Pelton
    Saturday, May 9th. Committee also to  
    consider an alternative site with Hy Vee  
    (Henderson Street) to cater.  Site   
    suggestions included The Palace,   
    the Pavilion at Lake Storey, and the   
    Kensington.  
       
VII. OLD BUSINESS Ice Machine Hy Vee will provide ice this year.  
    We will not purchase a used machine.  
       
VIII.  NEW BUSINESS 2008-2009 Budget The budget will be presented in October    Rhonda Brady   Rhonda Brady
    for approval.  
       
IX.  ANNOUNCEMENTS Absences Parents were reminded that absences  Ms. Shadensack
    must be reported to Ms. Shadensack  
    within 48 hours.
