continue to send weekly announcements out on email, so if you havenÕt already
given your email address to Stewart Nyi, please do so soon. These weekly announcements are the same
ones he makes to the band students and are as follows:
á
Thanks to everyone who
helped out at the game Friday, whether with uniforms, equipment, etc. He thanked those who attended and said
we had an excellent first performance.

Students interested in
auditioning for IMEA District/All State Jazz Band or Concert Band should
sign-up with Mr. Bredemeier or Mr. Klaessy by Friday, Sept. 1st. If your student is in Gold Jazz Band or
in Wind Symphony they are highly encouraged to audition. See a director for music. IMEA will be Saturday, Oct. 7th.

All conflicts must be cleared by Mr. Klaessy in advance.

Day parade is 9:15 at the corner of Chambers and Main. Students should arrive in full uniform,
no pants touching the ground, no hair showing under helmets.
5. Committee Reports
A. Uniforms – Vicki Tate/Lori Pearson
Vicki Tate mentioned
that students should check their uniform buckle first to make sure
itÕs properly adjusted to assist in pant legs not touching the
ground. Lori Pearson said that Richard
Kowalski and OSF donated 250 garments bags for our uniforms. She
already thanked him
and asked that band boosters also formally thank him. She will give
his address to Tanna Cullen.

Carolyn has sign up sheets for the competitions going around. Please sign up because we
take 7 buses on each trip and need 2 chaperones per bus.

D. Publicity – Gayle Stanley
Gayle said the
Register Mail did a fine job reporting our band picnic in the Aug. 21st
article. Additionally,
there was a picture on Friday, Aug. 25Õs front page that was nice.
She sent Jane Carlson at the Register Mail a calendar of our events for
the year.
E. Equipment – Mark Stanley
Outside of one small
glitch, everything went well last at last Friday nightÕs game.
F. Flags – Ann Seibert
Ann reported that
there are no more flags to pass out.
Some are still in the works.
There

H. Banquet – need a chairperson
I. Spirit Wear – Jamie Carlson
Jamie announced that she
changed vendors and is using BreedloveÕs now. They will
do spirit wear, decals and vehicle flags. She is placing an order for the next football
game. She sold a lot at the
picnic. She can get a quick turn
around with BreedloveÕs and
is getting a volume
discount, so itÕs easy to order anytime.
The prices are lower than
last yearÕs so she is pleased with the new vendor.
J. U of I Tailgate – Nancy Reed
Nancy spoke with
Lynne Bruin at Econo Foods and they will once again do the lunch.
We decided to order box lunches for the bus drivers. We are not able to take the school
tables, we

to cover the food. John
Shelly wanted to thank Lynne Bruin and Econo for years of
service to the band, including providing us free ice for our coolers for
the pop.
K. Trip Coordinator – John Tate
Fyi – For the trip year, 2008 - Easter falls on March 23,

critical this year and next.
L. Historian – Deb McKillip (new position)
Deb took the
pictures in the band office and arranged them in some scrapbooks. There
were lots of pictures from the 1990s, but not many recent pictures. She has 6 albums
