Fundraising 2008-2009

There are many expenses involved in maintaining our award-winning Galesburg High School Band. These expenses include uniforms, instruments, music, competitions, transportation, special equipment, and band trips.

Funding for the Galesburg High School Band comes from a variety of sources. These sources include Galesburg District #205 and Galesburg High School. However, expenses far exceed resources. One of the goals of the Galesburg Band Boosters is to try and defray portions of these expenses so that the band remains an affordable option for all students. There are still fees, rentals and expenses which have to be paid by band student parents. Fundraising activities of the Band Boosters help keep student fees at affordable levels.

The Galesburg Band Boosters assists with a variety of creative fundraising ideas. Volunteer opportunities exist to help offset your child's band expenses. Participation in these fundraising activities is requested of all band families. Working together helps everyone!

Please volunteer your time and talents to "help us to help you" with these band expenses.

What you can do?

1. Stay informed. Ask your band student for "take home" paperwork regularly. Sometimes students leave notes, memos and fundraising info at school or in their book-bags.

2. Check this web site regularly for updated information. If you have questions about a fundraising activity, please contact the fundraiser chairperson listed on this page. (or locate your contact on the "committees" or "contacts" pages, or contact the Band Boosters President)

3. Participate in the fundraisers.

4. Consider helping with the fundraisers.

Notice to all Fundraiser Chairpersons 09/15/2008
New Band Deposit Form now available and required to be included as part of Fundraiser deposits from Students.
We ask that this document be included as part of your Fundraising paperwork distributed to students.
This form must be filled out and placed in a sealed envelope with all band deposits.
The student’s name, section and the fundraiser must be printed on the outside of the envelope.
