GHS Band Booster Minutes March 13, 2007 1. President's Report: The meeting was called to order and led by Mr. Klassey. 2. Secretary's Report: Minutes were accepted. 3. Treasure's Report: Question posed $240.00 to IRS -perhaps interest form Money Market. Seniors must pay for Senior Photo - $10.00. Report was accepted. 4. Director's Report: Solo and Ensemble - almost all 1's! Jazz Ensembles played at the Rootabaga Festival Theme Concert - Mach 25 @ 2:00 all HS bands 5. Committee Reports: a. Uniforms - no report b. Chaperones - no report c. Communication - Stewart has started a communication Website, get address from him. d. Publicity - Gayle Stanley - Jeff Hamilton Trio didn't get into the Register Mail. Would like write ups for Jazz showcase and the Big Band Dip. e. Equipment - no report f. Flags - no report g. Jazz Showcase - Sarah Shelly- Lake storey Pavilion April 13th @ 7pm. Guest artist Dave Hawkins, trumpet (played for Ray Charles) works at Knox. Mr. K may talk to Jack Larson to get on his show. Pay at door. h. Big Band Dip - Libby Garrett, May 1 1th Theme: 50's Soda Shop. Do we need raffle donations? See needs help calling area businesses. Tables and chairs come from Gale School - She'll call Ellen Spittell to arrange for them. Freezer is reserved already from Happy Joes. 8th graders and HS students sell tickets - Libby will make them or have them printed. Tickets can be purchase at the door. Tickets will be in envelopes of 5 to pass out the week of April 16th -20th. 1. 8th Grade & Freshmen - bring cakes, (No ice cream cakes) 2. Sophomores/Juniors - bring pie. (No cream pies) 3. Seniors - Nothing Note: Does anyone have poodle skirts or 50's things to tack on the wall? We will get it back to you. i. Banquet – “All That Jazz” - Sherry Bankes, Knights of Columbus - May 18th - Do we want meal $13, Hors' $10 just Dessert $5 (We need to start the program when ticket says we will) More help is needed see Sherry. Ethan Soper will do video. Ann Seibert, RT Self and Debbie McKillip will do slide snow & DVD. Can turn in pictures, request for pictures on website. (Can do pictures of young and old, etc. childhood pictures) j. Spirit Wear - no report k. U of I Tailgate - no report l. Trip Coordinator - Points were turned in today - value based on what we have left over from booster funds. Historian - no report m. Ways and Means - JoEllen -Cookie dough-in next week a list was passed for helpers to sort & alphabetize. 6. Old Business: a. Trailer advertisements- dimensions were sent around showing space on trailer. b. Calendar Sales - if you know of a business that would like to advertise keep them in mind. Maybe Bill Dickerson could do some photos for free advertisement. 7. New Business: a. April 10th next mtg b. Next years band camp schedule is out. c. Are there any special sizes for uniforms needed?
