UNIFORMS

Students - Wearing Your Uniform

All boys and girls must have hair up under their helmets.
No jewelry for the performances.
NO EATING when in uniform.
Wear long, white socks only, except Drum Majors and Color Guard.
No jeans or jean shorts are to be worn under the uniforms.
Lycra shorts, boxers, and long underwear (when it is cold) may be worn.

All clothing worn under the uniform should be light gray, beige, white, or a light pastel in color.

(Please no plaids, stripes, polka dots, characters, or dark colors on your boxers.)
**Remember, if it can be seen, you will be asked to change before any performance.**

***Know your assigned uniform numbers, pants, jacket,, hat/hat box, gauntlets, and garment bag.

Keep your uniform in your garment bag once it is clean and dry. Placing a dryer sheet in the bottom of the garment bag will help to keep the uniform smelling better.
DO NOT put your hat box OR SHOES in the garment bag, or other items that will tear the bottom of the bags.

Care of your Marching Uniform

The entire uniform should be cleaned before each performance. It is each student's responsibility to clean their own uniform. This includes pants, jacket, gauntlets, gloves, hat, and shoes. Please try to keep the pants and jacket hung neatly on a suit hanger. The baldrics (sequined sashes) and plumes will be issued at each event.

Pants and Jackets

These uniforms are machine washable, separate from other laundry. Disregard the label! They will be dry cleaned at the end of the marching season only. During the year you should wash the pants  and jackets in cold water with a white powder or clear detergent. Please do not use any detergent that has a blue or any colored agent in it. The pants and jacket should be hung to dry or tumble dry on a very low setting.  Remove promptly from the dryer and hang. The pants and jackets may be pre-treated with "Era" or "Biz." Before washing the jacket, turn the sleeve cap up toward the collar and turn the jacket inside out.

**Please do not use well water to wash the pants and teh jackets. It will change the color of the uniform.**

**Before each event please check the buttons and hook and eyes. Make sure they are secure.**

**Add 1/4 cup of salt to the wash water when washing the uniform jacket for the first time. This will set the color and it will not bleed.**

Shoes and Gauntlets

These may be washed with "Soft Scrub," "Soft Scrub with Bleach," "Comet Gel" or "De-Solv-It Citrus Solution." Wash with a soft cloth and wipe dry. Clean before and after each parade, football game, or performance.

Helmets

Helmets may be cleaned with a mild soap and a soft cloth. Please keep the helmet in the case provided, not in the garmet bag or exposed to the sun.

Gloves

All gloves must be washed before every performance. They should be WHITE! It is a good idea to have an extra pair of gloves in your helmet box, in case you lose one right before a performance. Color guard should also have clean gloves.

Color Guard

Instructions to come later.

Hemming

When hemming these uniforms DO NOT EVER CUT ANY FABRIC OFF! If you are shortening,  you will need to remove the previous hem. To hem use small stitches, and hem as you would any dress pants. The new hem should be ironed in with a pressing cloth (muslin-type cloth) to protect the uniform.
